Education

  • PhD. in Engineering . Sheffield University, UK. 2010

  • M.Sc. in Mechanical Design. Helwan University, 2006

  • Bsc.in Mechanical Engineering. Helwan University, 2000.

Research Interests

  • Dr. Tamer El-Sayed’s research focuses on the nonlinear dynamics and stability of mechanical and structural systems, with particular emphasis on rotating machinery, functionally graded materials (FGMs), and vibration analysis. His work integrates advanced analytical, numerical, and computational methods to investigate dynamic stability, periodic motion, and bifurcation phenomena in complex mechanical systems such as rotors, beams, and fluid-conveying structures. In addition, he is deeply involved in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling and simulation of pumps, compressors, and turbochargers to optimize their performance, efficiency, and flow characteristics. His research extends to the application of Floquet theory, state transition matrices, and continuation methods for the analysis of nonlinear periodic systems, as well as the modeling of smart and composite materials, crack detection and healing in structures, and fault diagnosis in rotating machinery
