Electrical Engineering Program Educational Objectives
Electrical Engineering Department aims to produce electrical engineers with strong foundation in the relevant sciences and technology, who are able to contribute to society through practice, innovation, enterprise and leadership.
The structure of the Electrical Engineering program is designed to meet the following program objectives:
Program Objective #1 (PO1): Practice as professional Electrical Engineers in related projects in private and public sectors..
Program Objective #2 (PO2): Continue improving their skills and continue acquiring knowledge about new technologies through self-directed training, attending workshops and conferences, be a member of professional societies, or post graduate education..
Program Objective #3 (PO3): Progress successfully in their Electrical Engineering career such as working as a manager..
Student Outcomes of Electrical Engineering Program:
The success of the Electrical Engineering program is assessed through the following learning outcomes:
General Education: Intellectual broadening through exposure to information, knowledge and modes of inquiry that are beyond the engineering discipline.
Core: Understanding of and ability to apply the basic science, the mathematics and the basic electrical engineering knowledge.
Technical Breadth: Knowledge in technical areas relevant to Electrical Engineering, and ability to use techniques, skills and engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.
Technical Depth: An understanding of, and an ability to solve engineering problems in one or more specializations of Electrical Engineering.
Design: An ability to perform engineering design by the process of analysis, synthesis and integration of knowledge within Electrical Engineering.
Attitude: Inculcate a need for lifelong learning.
Communications: An ability to communicate effectively by reading, writing, listening and speaking.
Professional Relations: An ability to work effectively in teams.
Ethics: Be able to appreciate the importance of ethics in engineering practice and to understand the impact of engineering on society.
Student Outcomes (ABET)
