Forthcoming in February 2016: an article title "Nationality and History in Yeats's Poetics of Myth and Mythmaking." The article investigates how Yeats uses myth and mythmaking for both aesthetic and political ends. Myth serves the poet two purposes: (1) celebrating what he calls "imaginative nationalism," that is, the Irish cause; and (2) his poetic career, insofar as the poet creates his own myth about his mission as poet and intellectual.  What is interesting about Yeats is that  myth is used as part of his quest for self-mythologisation.

We are currently working hard on several cultural activities which will be presented on Culture Day. They involve theatre, photography and documentary films.  The Department Theatre Club is performing Hamlet. Students have also made two movies, one comically warns studets againt the mis/use of Google translation, the other is documentary on local tradition and cullture.
